Is a stargate based opening still good as Protoss in PvT, and PvZ?

I am fairly new too the game and I have not played on the ladder yet. I really want to favor protoss air units as my opener.

I watched Daily #469 ToD Vs. Parting and worked on the PvP 1 gate + stargate opener for a bit. I was wondering if that build would work in PvT and/or PvZ?

Any tips and pointers would be great! I got a bad case of ladder anxiety I would love to overcome.
