And I'm not sure I like the mile wide, inch deep method. I really liked going in-depth on topics when I was in school. I suppose if students are actually retaining the knowledge, that'd be cool, but I suppose I'm skeptical of that actually happening. I never remembered the grand overviews, personally, without getting into those cool details.
I guess I'm kind of sad that there seems to be no time for inquiry in school anymore. Most of my science classes were set up with inquiry as a major component. Sigh.
