Design vs Analysis at ITU

The analysis track at ITU is mainly about qualitative research, not quantitative. In other words, no math :) Plus, the first semester is actually the same for Design and Analysis students, which makes it possible to switch tracks at the end of the semester.

Design is much more project based and (unfortunately) teaches little theory. Analysis, on the other hand, focuses on theory, game culture, and research papers, but you wont make any games. That being said, there are always elective courses (in the 2nd and 3rd semester) and nobody prevents you from grouping up with other students to make games at game jams or in your spare time.

So in short, Design is mainly project group work while Analysis is mainly individual research.
