So you're playing against a mage or a hunter... And you're low on life.
You're dead in 2 turns.
"Well, maybe if I play really well-"
No, you're dead in 2 turns.
"Maybe is I draw some taun-"
You're DEAD IN 2 TURNS.
"But he has no cards!"
YOU ARE DEAD IN 2 TURNS. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO.
OH MY GOD, SUCH A FUN MECHANIC.
I am of course talking about direct-to-hero unblockable damage. Whether or not it is OP is not my concern, my concern is that it is utterly infuriating and in no way enjoyable to play against. There is no skill involved, it's just oh look... A time limit on the game. If you don't kill him within X turns, you lose. Regardless of what cards you may have, what strategy you might be running. etc.
"Well the counter is to kill the opponent before he can wear you down" I hear you say, like a clever person. To which I respond THIS GAME IS BASED ON RANDOM CARD DRAW. It's not like I can do a 1-base marine push. I either draw early damage cards or I don't. Against Priest or Shaman or Paladin this is not a problem as you can pull it back in the late game by protecting yourself with taunters, against Mage and Hunter you just... can't.
The most fun games are those close matches which last 25 turns and you and your opponent both run out of cards and it's intense and fun and skillful. These matches simply cannot occur against Mage and Hunter. There is basically a 10-15 turn time limit before you are dead from their unblockable bullshit.
Please, tell me how I'm wrong and Hunter and Mage are so fun to play against.
