DK Suggested Fanart Meme

Oh no guys. Guys. Have you seen this meme? If you look at a google search of #sixfanarts, you generally get some beautiful but simple pictures in one cohesive style. I uh…haven’t been doing that. I’ve been doing stuff like this:

This is not productive. Although I will finish this picture in the style because I started it, I put way too much stress on myself and when I started having problems sleeping I just didn’t have the spoons to stay on time. So I’m gonna keep going but I’m going to give myself a break. Here is what I got so far! (Thank you guys for your suggestions, seriously I do appreciate it.) So I’m three and a half of twelve. I might have to make this two projects. Thank you for your patients guys.

Alright first week! Do you think I got my **** together and had a productive week smashing out three pictures? No I did not. Instead, I procrastinated and then futzed with my software and hardware for days, started a picture without doing a thumbnail and subsequently ditched it for a new one that I’m not sure I like more.

I did, however, get at least one picture done after setting up the meme format on Krita, the drawing software I will be using for this challenge.

After some deliberation, I’ve decided that I will release the first six after week two, on Friday the 8th (give or take depending on productivity) in fitting with the #sixfanarts theme. But in the spirit of seeing me struggle and know that I AM indeed working on stuff, here is the first one I did.

Phalanx from Shadow of the Colossus for member loopyloo. He has a very, very odd design and it was a challenge to try and do some foreshortening. I went through another design which looked more like this:

Before saying screw it and starting from scratch.

So for my next piece, I’m, going to be doing a few sketches in a sketchbook first, then scanning the lineart. It’s just more efficient that way and I have a tiny wacom bamboo tablet to work with at any rate. Anyway. I do hope Loopyloo ends up liking their picture. :) See you all next week!
