... that (I think) every woman in this thread mentions menstruation and reproductive health issues as a major source of pain. I don't know whether that's self-selection, coincidence or just the fact that for many of us it's an enormously ...

And I'm excited for this! Just one question. The site says check-in at 7.45pm tonight, but that games don't start until the 6th. When/how do we need to be available?
  • Hello again, friends!

    #
Hi folks, I've been away forever! Just wanted to wave at people and check in with you all. I moved countries, submitted my PhD thesis and then got slammed with some health issues, so I've been keeping my head above ...
  • Worst was a kidney infection in reply to Worst pain you've ever experienced by LordMatsu

Do not recommend infected kidneys, not at all. I also have to second the other ladies and say that after I had a copper IUD fitted I had a couple of pretty brutal periods. Womanhood!

I crashed and burned horribly - guess I've just been trying to take on too much in the past few weeks. However, I did plan out some scenes and ideas for my short story collection and have picked away at ...

  • Look at Chris Bateman's work in reply to Game Design Theory - What to read? by Balgrin

He has a blog but he's also written a couple of books on game design theory and philosophy. It's some fairly intense and unusual stuff.

  • Specific time and practice requirements in reply to What frustrates you most about playing StarCraft? by Day9

    #
Unfortunately, being a married twenty-something in a PhD program rather than a single, seventeen-year-old Korean boy, I will never be superb at StarCraft. It's a pursuit that requires way too much of a time investment relative to what one reasonably ...
  • Yikes in reply to National Novel Writing Month: Planning! by SteppeLively

  • Great questions in reply to Pros and Cons in Indie Games by LordMatsu

Right now I'm loving Redshirt - it's still in beta but you can pre-order and enjoy. I've finished Papers, Please a few times and loved it. Earlier favourites are clever, tactical Atom Zombie Smasher and the ultra-soothing Osmos. I honestly ...

  • On books in reply to Caleb Fox aka........ calebfox by foximusprime

So, accept an element of bias in this post because I love reading more than pretty much anything, and probably read more books per year than videogames and films/TV shows put together... but the thing with books is, much like ...
  • It's obvious! in reply to Why do you play Zerg? by PickledParsleyParty

    #
As hive-dwelling insects, Zerg are matriarchal... as is proper. I'm (slightly) joking. Honestly, I find there's an intuitiveness to the way Zerg play that I don't feel in the other races.
