Market my Etsy Shop

Closing update: I made my first sale to someone I don’t know! It came through Etsy’s Promoted Listings and I have barely paid anything. I might raise my bid another couple pennies. And find another advertising option…

I am on page 9 (nice) of the Etsy listings for “pocket square” which is higher than I thought. Unfortunately its one of the ones i like the least. But one of my nice ones is on page 1 for “hand rolled pocket square” which is the main selling point. And I have over 30 Instagram followers.

Right now I just did a little SEO work, trying to learn about it.I will check in on my Google rankings later. I am impatient to find out if it is working, haha. Just going to keep doing my IG posts in the meantime

This week I did some extra work to expand on my Instagram. First, I wrote a Python script to work with Etsy’s API to produce a file to upload to Facebook Catalog. This should let me set up linking to my store on the image of my products.

Unfortunately, Facebook rejected my application to be able to do that. There is no specific reason or appeal process so I hunted around and found a Reddit thread that to fix it you have to go to the Help section for Facebook Ads and talk to them on Messenger and they can tell you what is wrong and then resubmit the application.

So I did that and they had to set an email to the approval team. So this is ongoing! I just hope it is ready by the weekend because that is when my posts do the best.

I also did a Facebook ad for 3 dollars that is ongoing.

Have a few posts now, still picking up on the techniques. But I am getting followers! I have a few ideas, including my just started posts on what my fashion looks like

I got excited and started early. Right now only getting around 15 likes/post on my first two. Need to relook at what to do.
