Description
Excited to get started work on the Beta Build for ELEMANCERS! In this phase I am adding game testing feedback from the Alpha Build, completing UI design, miniature 3D printing, flavor text additions, and rulebook construction. Look forward to see how much I can get done in this push.
Recent Updates
5/9 - Beta build is still underway, but a successful 30 day push! Lots of high level design planning, game feedback incorporation, project management schedule for the next 6 months, and great ideas for story and solo modes. Thanks Day 9 for hosting this event and look forward to the next one in Fall to close out my kickstarter project! Cheers.
5/1 - Working on getting game to fit in 3-4 game session length (including “how to play” and setup first 30 min). Still brainstorming design direction for UI. Also entertaining business case for Solo Mode design and/or AI for automated opponent. Story brainstorming will commence this weekend.
4/27 - Slight deviation plan to this week goal. Working on battle/round timing instead of story this week so can finalize play session length. Will jump on story brainstorming next week.
4/24 – Completed PMP for mapping out activities required to complete Beta build, Advertising and KS lock milestones. Currently practicing using Corel DRAW before implementing UI design work to ensure art direction can be achieved. Still also finalizing look desired for final UI. Story text brainstorming will also occur for this final week’s push.
4/14 – Implemented feedback from last round of testing. Currently still forecasting the complete asset list everything I need for UI pass. Have macro areas that need work, but now need to itemize each individual art piece required for beta. Also working on final direction for UI for all game cards (saga + lore + battle + creature). Gotta keep the momentum going and eye on the prize!
4/8 – Making headway on Alpha build implementation! Halfway through addressing feedback. Got great insight from the 100 players hours of testing prior. Main challenge currently is balancing fun vs shorter battle sequences. Also balancing meaningful and shorter game rounds. Players had fun, but game ran very long. Interesting ideas on how to save game states (legancy game without destroying the game board), but original intent is game to be played during one session.
