Do 1000 Push ups, squats, or sit-ups for 4 days a week

Tech Tree Health, Fitness, Food DK30 Spring 2019 1 3

Description

I will be doing either 1000 pushups, squats, or sit-ups for 4 days of the week. I have to do 1000 push ups total in a 24 hour period. They do not have to be consecutive pushups. I’ll be aiming to do 25 pushups in a row whenever I get a chance.

I’ve been working out every single day whenever I get a few moments to myself. I’ve managed to do 1000 situps and squats but I still can’t do 1000 pushups in a single day. I have managed to increase the number of pushups I can do and the ease that I can do them with but ultimately I either run out of time or my wrist gives out.

Despite failing to reach my goal I have ended up doing more pushups this month alone than I have done in the past 10 years. I’ve had trouble gaining muscle mass on my chest but now I’m actually starting to see some growth. My man tits are starting to look like proper pecs now which is great.

Failed or not I’m happy with the result and I plan on making this a regular part of my routine.

I’ve been using this body for 26 years and I clearly still don’t know a damn thing about it. I thought there was no way I could do 1000 sit-ups since I usually get sick and feel like throwing up after 10 and yet I managed it just in time and only feel slightly nauseous. This is the first day that I managed to accomplish my goal.

The last 150 futile attempts to disobey gravity were barely recognizable as sit-ups but I counted them anyway. Hopefully by the end of the month I’ll be able to do them perfectly all the way to the end.

Today was squat day. I made it to 800 before I ran out of time. I need to manage my time better. I took breaks between reps early in the morning to allow my legs to recover a bit but then I had to do 500 squats in way too short of a time.

I wont be able to walk tomorrow but thats fine since tomorrow is sit ups. I wont get anywhere near 1000 but curious to see where I get.

So day one has been a spectacular failure. I underestimated just how much strength I lost from not working out and from the fact that I have messed up wrists. The handles I made really helped but not enough for me to be able to reach 1000. I only got to 120. My arms started to hurt at around 100 so I took a break and tried to come back to it to do another 100 but my wrists just weren’t up to it. Even if I only did 120 thats still 120 more than I would have this month if I didnt try to reach 1000 so I’m happy about that. I think I’m going to get a wrist brace and see if that helps with the pain.

Tomorrow is all about squats and lunges. Ive done over 1000 before so I’m confident I can at the very least get close to 1000 if not pass it but then again I could be underestimating how weak I got.

Turns out there is no passive strength buff that gets applied simply for owning a gym membership. You have to actually use it.

I used to be in much better shape so I figured 25 reps would be fine considering I could do about 30-35 before. I got to 18 pushups on my first try and then very quickly devolved into only being about to do 5 at a time.

I’ve only done 100 so far and I’m running out of time. My arms are killing me right now but I think I can get another 150 in. I’m still going to push for 1000 even if I know I can’t reach it.

If I set my goal to 100 or something more reasonable I would have stopped there and patted my self on the back for achieving my goal even though I could have still done more.
