Escape House 2: More puzzles

Description
I’m going to be expanding my previous DK30 project: Escape House. Before I only made a single room, now I’m going to add a smaller room as a tutorial level before this one and add a larger one that you need to solve after you’re done with the current room. In doing this, I’ll be re-using some mechanics and also making a few new ones, so the puzzles stay unique and fresh. Recent Updates
It’s been quite a while since my last update, but I added the last few finishing touches to the game and I’m ready to release my 1.0 version. This includes the first introductory room and the second more challenging room, both complete with hints, sound effects and of course puzzles. I even did some voice acting in the first room to give a bit of story context to the whole affair!
I hope you’ll have as much fun playing the game as I did making it! As always, shoot me a message if you tried it out and let me know what you thought!

I’ve put some time and effort into making a macOS build. There were a few people who didn’t have access to a Windows platform, so in order to give them a chance to play I’ve got a macOS build set up. As I don’t have a mac myself, I can’t fully test it. So if you do run into any technical issues, please let me know!
Next up I’ll be finishing the last bits and pieces of room 0. The hint system is not fully implemented yet for example. Stay tuned!
Now that all the puzzles are in place, I’ve added the final things around it so that you can actually solve them! Currently there are still some elements missing, such as certain sound effects or flavor text when interacting with items. Also the hint system is broken because I haven’t actually added any hints for room 0 yet.
That said, all the gameplay mechanics are in place and it’s playable! So I’ve decided to release a build of my progress so far. That way I can at least start getting some feedback from you guys. Since my progress isn’t going as fast as I would’ve liked, I’m going to change the goals for week 3 and 4. Instead of also trying to do a room 2, I’m going to focus on this room first and try to get to version 1.0.0.

I’ve implemented the last of the puzzle interactions. Now all that remains is to polish up the areas around it and make sure I’m not missing any crucial parts. I might just release an early build for playtesting while I add in the last few details, just so I can start iterating on any player feedback.
Progress is going a bit slower than I had expected. I don’t have as much time as I would’ve liked. That said I am still making progress and I’m definitely going to finish room 0. However I’m not sure if I’ll be able to also finish a 2nd room as well. I might have to cut some of the later goals.
The room is really starting to come together. I’ve already implemented some object interactions and I have an idea of the puzzles I’m going to want to make. Nothing playable so far though. I want to have at least a basic implementation of every puzzle before I release something for feedback.
That said, I did want to make a little update to show my progress. I’m still working on finishing the models for room 0 and I need to implement all of the puzzle mechanics after that. When those are in place, I’ll release a playable build for you guys to play. I’m very much looking forward to getting more feedback!
I’ve been busy making room 0. The basic layout is complete and I’ve made a few basic models that are going to be part of some puzzles. My Trello board is full of ideas already and I’m excited to put them all into play. Most of my progress has been in planning stuff out and coming up with ideas, so I don’t have that much to show yet.
However I did get started on a puzzle I’m quite excited about. It has to do with looking through a hole in the wall and observing some light patterns. Check out the gif below to get a sneak peak of what I’m working on!
