The Dragon Bank

Had a bit of a break, that I didn’t necessarily want to take, it just kind of happened. Anyway, jumped back in the saddle, and learned a lot more things. More specifically I expanded my knowledge about the origins of Fractional Reserve Banking, and the history of ‘paper currency’, or to be more precise, how money was converted to not money.

I now have a fairly fundamental grasp on the ‘technical aspects’ how a Dragon Bank could run, the only thing left to figure out is how a dragon bank would handle ‘Insurance’ which became a big part of banking for merchant banks in history.

So, I went down a several hour research rabbit hole, looking into modern banking systems, a short history of banking, the history of ‘Usury’ (which I had completely forgotten was a thing) and more.

When I started this I in no way thought I would gain valuable insights that have great real world use!

This is a document with my (scarce) notes for today. I’m basically only writing down very few things, but I did a lot of reading xD

So, mondays are really terrible days to be productive in. I basically didn’t take time to even look at anything yet, but I will be basing a lot of my stuff on this.

Basically I’m going to chop up what things need writing from that, hopefully tomorrow.
