Get into creative coding (Processing, Open Frameworks) and start posting sketches on Instagram if possible
lvrenno Code and Eng DK30 Quarantine 2020 1 1
Description
As a design student, I’ve always wanted to use creative coding as my main occupation, but college often made me push it away. Since now college doesn’t take my time anymore, I wanna get into it.
Recent Updates
Posted my first sketch on my instagram account @lvrenno, was quite pleased with the result but can still improve, but I still think its relying too much on other people’s codes.
Attended Processing Community Day’s live workshops on youtube, and discovered among other things, OpenProcessing, a kind of social network for creators to share their work and improve the community, and figured out I have to also learn p5.js, a variant of processing more similar to javascript, focused on web applications.
It’s my second day on the project and I tried to make a “simon-like” game from scratch. Not exactly the kind of end-product I’m trying to achieve but I think its useful for making myself familiar with coding and using mathematical logic to solve problems. The youtube channel “The coding train” has very good programming lessons for beginners on Processing language and I’ve been using their videos as video lessons.
