Manage my family's digital content

Yoga_Fuego Other DK30 Quarantine 2020 2 2

Description

Figure out a sane strategy for managing all of my family’s digital “content” (photos, videos, movies, books, music, etc.) This includes consolidating it so it’s easier to find than being scattered around a bunch of flash drives, hard drives, mobile devices, computers, and cloud accounts. It also includes figuring out which files need cloud backups and, eventually, creating a media center or dropbox type of setup so I can share photos and movies with friends.

NAS has been set up and user accounts made for wife and me. Created two catch-all file deposits, one for myself and one for the wife, and dumped all of our stuff from various accounts in it. I think mine is 98% done, there is still a flash drive somewhere I can’t find. Wife’s stuff, I THOUGHT was done, but discovered she had 2 other portable hard drives and an SD card with photos I still need to pull.
