Satan Writing DK30 Fall 2020 12 14

Description

I’ll be at the mental health clinic for most of if not all of this DK30. Writing helps me process things, so during the DK30 I want to write something every day.

Here is the Link to the folder I will be using for this DK30!

Well, overall I would call this a success. I did a lot of writing, more than I maybe expected. And while the extended week did not go as expected, it was … fairly relaxed. So while I did not achieve every goal I set, I completed my initial goal of writing something consistently for most of the weeks I was working on this!

So, the past few days I have had internet trouble, and have been unable to do my work as I am used to it at night. I’ve also been struggling when I did do writing. On top of that I had a really tough week with therapy and being put into isolation, so I’m kind of okay? with not having reached my goals with Week 4.

However, I am thinking of extending the project by a week of just free-form writing (outside of the normal DK30 time). So I am marking the project as “completed”, but I will continue to work on it for one additional week.

So, I spent days 15-Today working on a secret project, and recovering from working on it. It will be revealed at a later date. It was a lot of fun, but very different from what I set out to do. I am now trying to dive back into it, but boy am I exhausted… I still have “Decrement” left over to do.

I haven’t done one of these in a while, am really exhausted, and am going to be lazy.

Since the last update I have written the following poems: Bloviate, Ekphrasis, Serendipitous, Defenestration, Contract, Void, Prestidigitation, Hydrate (a meme), Discombobulated.

To find them, you can click the Link in the description, and check Days 10, 11, and 13!

So, ever since changing my goals, from just, writing “anything” to taking words from the community to turn into poems, I have started getting a little more satisfaction from the project. That’s personally the most important for me, so I think that was a good step.

So, that being said, lets get to the meat of it: The poems. On Day 8, I took word from the #writing channel. Specifically I took: “Sith” from Darthluke, “Penguin” from his now wife < 3, and last but by no means least, “Haven”, as suggested by NaN!

For today, I chose to take some suggestions from #Lobby, which was clearly a mistake. ADD suggested “Bird”, which, you know… “Bird is the word.” But then I was challenged to make it erotic. Of course. What did I expect from such an upstanding member of the community. Yoga_Fuego, not to be outdone, chose “Catamaran”. Likewise, had to be erotic. At least according to Acreaul. Sigh. At least ScarlettFire94 chose something slightly easier: “Perplexing”. And it didn’t even have to be erotic! Score!

Today was another weird one. I was miserable probably most of the past three days and today was a really good day, and it showed in my “eccentricity”. I wonder how many will spot what I did with the second poem of today…

First one I wrote is a play on a lot of things, called “Feathered Embrace”, and the second one, which is the far weirder one imo, but also the probably most relatable to anyone who has ever been in love, is titled “Silent Mind”. It’s a joke I find pretty fun myself :D

The past three days have been a struggle, and part of the reason why I moved the goal post for Weeks 2-3. Therapy is taking its toll on me and making writing a difficult thing to do some days, like today. But hey, I did write something every day, so there’s that.

On Day 3 I struggled with a poem in my mother tongue, Dutch. I called the poem “Niet Meer” which translates roughly to “no longer” or “no more”. The struggle with this one is that I could not find meaningful rhymes for Passie (passion) and Liefde (love). Then, Day 4 I was inspired by some D&D talk and wrote a fun little “D&D Lovesong” (it’s a semi pun), as well as the master piece that I will never be able to top. Day 5 I went a bit meta, and I honestly don’t know what to think of this one, called “It Itself”. It’s one of those that I think can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people depending on where you’re coming from. Today’s was a bit simpler of a premise, but I think it came out “okay”, and I call it “What”.

So, it is now the end of my second day of this DK30, and so far I feel pretty good about it.

The first day, I wrote two poems: “That Thing”, and “The Heart”. And now, on the second day, I wrote a One Page Story titled “A Moment in Time”!
