Description

The time has come for me to make the move from Europe to Asia. I’ve been putting this off for a long time, first because of the political unrest and then because of the pandemic. Now that situation is worse than before, I am actually doing it. In this project I will focus on job hunting and clearing legal hurdles of immigration.

Hm, I don’t know why I never updated this project.

I did follow through on it and I did migrate to Hong Kong in May 2021, I just never bothered to get back to this page to record it. Promising to do better on the next dk30

Day 1: The visa requirements look very promising. I need to get a job offer that has above average salary and then the company will apply on my behalf. The whole process can take up to 3 months but if I can just get an offer I will consider this project successful.

Also, the work visa gives me an exemption from the entry ban imposed during the pandemic, so we’re good.

Oct 15th - Nov 12th

Week 1 Goal

Research the legal requirements for visa programme in Hong Kong. Update CV and start sending it. I want to send at least 7 job applications by the end of the week one.

Week 2 Goal

Identify the most commonly requested skill that I’m missing from my resume. Send at least 14 job applications this week.
