So, Lockdown is still going strong here, so my work hasn’t started yet. I had a bunch of plans and goals for 2021, but I have been slacking off, so it’s time to get back into working on said goals. I’m going to do that by focusing on some overall METHODS, which don’t do anything in particular except hopefully put me into more of a work mindset, which will hopefully lead to me working on GOALS.

Alright, day 1

A decent start:

So, as I mentioned in the intro, I want to do more stuff, and the way I want to go about it is by implementing some METHODS that will hopefully restrict my behaviour and steer it more into the direction of working, instead of squalor goblin :) These METHODS are based on observations that I have made about myself over the last couple years, so I already kind of know what to do, now I just need the discipline to do it. Having said that, I feel like I could use some more experimenting with said METHODS, so that’s what the first part of the project is for.

Anyway, by now you might be wondering what said METHODS are, so here they are:

METHODS (basically, getting rid of stuff that could trigger my inner goblin):

  • no phone in my bedroom
  • getting dressed when I wake up, not hours later
  • eating my food, or at least breakfast and lunch at the dinner table, instead of my desk
  • while eating breakkie, make a plan/look at the stuff I have planned for the day, identify Most Important Tasks
  • use the first hour, hour and a half of the day to work on those MITs
  • keep my living room tidy
  • limit the usage of apps or certain websites (YT, Netflix), though this may already get accomplished by not eating at my desk. I’ve noticed that when I eat at my desk, I’ll go to YT and stay there for the rest of the day
  • have a moment to reflect on what worked and update this project, and to look ahead after the day is done
  • don’t be too harsh/strict, most of my time is still time spend doing things I want to do, due the lockdown, I dont have all that much else to do anyway’, so not doing everything in one day doesn’t really matter, I’ve got plenty of time

Besides that, what do I want to spend time on?

GOALS:

  1. MIT/to do list
  2. learning languages (Norsk, Español, Kiswahili)
  3. conlanging/linguistics
  4. drawing
  5. getting back into proper climbing shape
  6. stay in contact with friends (either online or irl)

Most of my days will probably consist of these GOALS, while staying flexible to incorporate work and other appointments, when they happen.

Most updates will probably be a quick checklist of METHODS and GOALS, with some thoughts, when applicable

Estimated Timeframe

Apr 19th - May 16th

Week 1 Goal

Focus on METHODS, but also experiment with strictness of the day and general order of projects. Hopefully get most of the pending to-do stuff out of the way.

Week 2 Goal

Have an idea of what schedule works best.

Week 3 Goal

Continue work, know the final order of schedule.

Week 4 Goal

Continue work, showcase results.
