No words today. Taking a small mental break. Needed it for a few I think and honestly feeling SUPER run down today.

400 words written on this day and it came SOOOO easily. Nearing the end of the first chapter.

Day[24]

250 words met for the day right as I finish out my day. Phew I’m tired.

Day [23]

Spent an hour prior to work just working on writing the start to another a story idea I have since I’m a little stuck on my other story. Over 400 words written (forget the exact count since I’m writing by hand) and it was AWESOME! 400 words in an hour feels SO GOOD!

Day[20] 250 word goal met. Not much to say about it. Got it in last minute. Really thinking I need to actively carve out a set time to do this going forward if I want to up my word count

Day[21] Amazing day of progress. Added 1500 words to my D&D document in preparation for our session but then we had to cancel due to illness within the group. All good though because now that is all prepared for next time!

Day[22] Work day today. Will update once I get my words in for the day! Update 2100: 250 words met but just barely! Reaaaaally gotta carve out that time.

Day[19]

250 words goal met and well over. 600 words so far. I’m very happy with the results of this experiment and plan for next month to have a higher word goal per day. ON TO FINISHING OUT THIS GOALLLLLL!

Day[17] and Day[18]

Day 17 was aaaaaaalllllmost a bust. Barely got in my 250 words before I crashed. Unsure what’s causing the general lethargy. Probably how much I hate the job I’m working but meh. The good news is that since I got my fountain pens I just enjoy the feeling of writing with them so that has helped me push through on days I’m feeling meh. Just gotta get that SCRATCHY writing feeling.

Day 18 is starting much better. Over the past couple hours I’ve gotten over 750 words for my D&D campaign and I’m still just setting up the areas they are in. Gotta make sure that I don’t go Too hard here and actually allow them opportunities to interact. I just enjoy describing things too much I guess. The work will continue today but I have work soon so we’ll see how much more I’m able to get done. Lots more to do before Saturday’s session!

Day[15] and Day[16]

Day 15 I barely got my 250 words.

Starting now on my day 16. Will update once it is done!

Update: 1859 250 words reached! May write more but probably not thanks to work today. Really need to start carving out some serious time for this if I want to go further

Day[14]

High anxiety day for me today but I was able to complete 250 words on my writing project!

Day [13]

Well over 2k words written today as I finished up all my session notes for the first session in my 8-12 week stint as DM. Tonight was the night of our first session and it was a BLAST! Seems like everyone had a great time so all the prep was worth it. Now to start working on session 2!

250 words completed. Exhausted again so will try and od a bigger update tomorrow

Well over 500 words written for my D&D adventure that starts this Friday wooooo!

The work continues. I’m still exhausted so not much to say other than 250 words met between my story and my D&D prep.

Day[9]

250 words done on my fantasy story! That’s it. It’s late. I’m D-E-D dead. Time for me to sleeps.

Day[8]

Almost gave in to my sleepiness today. I decided to wake up early in the hopes that I could 1) Stream 2) Exercise and then 3) Write some more of my story ALL BEFORE MY 10 HOUR SHIFT. I got the first 2 done but by the time they were completed I had completely run out of time and had to clock in. Thankfully I was able to knock out about 300 words on my 20 minute break.

Sheesh. Maybe I need to also consider cutting back on 1-2 things I’m doing…

Day[7]

Phew getting this one in LATE today. Ran a 5k with the wife today and have been going ever since this morning on other things. I was able to carve out a small second to get my 250 words in today though! Working on D&D setting stuff. Due to real life scheduling issues I’ve been given a couple weeks reprieve to get some more planning and background work done so that’s nice.

No solution on the story problems on my other project yet though. We shall see!

Edit: Update 20:07 - Felt a little guilty not working on a story as well as the D&D but seeing as I’m stuck on my first story (WHAT IS THE CONFLICT?!) I decided to start working on my D&D adjacent high fantasy story set in my own homebrew world and MAN WAS I READY FOR THAT. Busted out 400ish words in about 40 minutes. Huge for me and felt great. Looking forward to pushing through some more on this in the future WOO!

Day[6]

Another day and another 250 words though I’ve come across a problem. I have ideas for characters. I have ideas for cool magic. I have ideas for setting. I HAVE NOT GIVEN ENOUGH THOUGHT TO WHY THEY’RE ALL DOING WHAT THEY DO! Soooo… time for some plotting thoughts!

Day[5]

Well today was AMAZING. Easily wrote 375 words and I think I’ve come to the natural conclusion for the first section (chapter?) of my story. Also feel like I’m getting a grip on at least the main character and what his motivations are.

All in all very excited!

Day[4]

Little bit lackluster of a morning writing wise. More work on the D&D campaign done though! Today’s work was further description of the main city my party will be dealing with as well as some character for their initial guide. 283 words so far but about to have to start work. As always, if I am able, I will update later!

Day[3]

MUCH better today! I was able to wake up at a better time (6:30 instead of 7:00) and able to get a good amount more done! So far I’ve written 500 words for my D&D campaign but will most likely continue working on that throughout the day.

Plan to work on my story here in a bit too but wanted to get this update published just to let you all know THE WORK CONTINUES!

Edit: 1800 Update: I was able to re-read what I’ve written on my story, quickly realized that a good portion of it is unnecessary but since this is just the rough draft I’m just powering through! Added around 200 words. Not sweating the count on this one since I know I am well above my daily goal.

Day[2]

Not much here. Due to scheduling issues I was only really able to get my bare minimum of 250 words done this morning very quickly before work. Not my best day but the minimum was met so yaaaaay?

This 250 words was for my D&D campaign arc that I will be doing for a long running campaign (18 months total). The DM requested that I take over an arc so that he could take some time off to focus on some other projects.

May update either tonight or tomorrow if I find more time post work.

Day[1]

Today was a GREAT start for this 30 day project. I have exactly 432 words for today and still have ideas of where I want to go but work is about to start so taking a moment to celebrate my success and be happy with the work completed.

It is not award winning writing and already there are things I would do better but the work has begun and I will celebrate that.
