30 Days of Casting

Day 13: Uploaded hours ago but almost forgot to post! Casted a couple high diamonds today for a change of pace, I’m running out of ESL replays I haven’t already livecasted. I might cast a couple masters tourneys to fill the gap

Day 12: Today’s cast was Papi vs Byun. Papi got bopped. I was still able to find unique things to say about the series.

Day 11: Soooooo refreshed! uthermal vs clem was today’s series. Today’s twist was having a cocaster! Mechachu joined the battle! I was tired and forgot to move discord channels so there is background noise from someone at one point, but it happens. It always amazes me just how much easier doing a cocast is than solo. Day 10: Sleep schedule still incredibly messed up. But going to head to bed, reset and cast in the morning!

More anxiety, but the actual casting becoming easier and more relaxed. I’m still reflecting on why this is so much more stressful than livecasting. Maybe because with live viewership i feel like i have friends there?

Day [9]: My sleep schedule got totally fucked up, so I uploaded in the early morning hours. Schedule should be reset this evening. These games were some fun ones! Lots of cloaked units and an enjoyable double proxy to close things out. I felt more energized, and without the stress of my life thing weighing me down, I felt it much easier to take deep breaths and project more, as well as think more clearly! https://youtu.be/ViAAjjnuDv0

Day 8: I dealt with the life thing today. It delayed today’s recording by quite a bit, but it is the least anxious i’ve been so far. Hopefully my spontaneity continues to improve day by day!

Today’s cast was a normal ass normal bo3 between maxpax and gumiho. zzzz standard pvt. the players are pretty evenly matched but every game was decisive zzzzzzz

Day 7: One week down! It was hard to find the energy today, but I still made it! Tomorrow my morale should start going back up, some stressful things will be taken care of.

I discussed thumbnails and learned with the Gallant DayKnight Marth. I became more efficient at editing today! Just like using shortcuts in starcraft, I very slowly edited only using keyboard hotkeys!! https://youtu.be/boA8ELWBpFY

Day 6: I successfully took care of anxiety today by walking through it! I’ve been trying to lose weight to the best of my ability, and literally taking my time with production, stepping away and walking a couple hundred paces really helped.

Today’s series was the shortest so far, ptitdrogo vs heromarine. Big Gabe is on another level. And…there wasnt a moment of boredom for me! I felt like I was able to keep my energy up, and I had fun with the series!!!

On the production side of things, I learned the shortcut for splitting in Davinci (ctrl+backslash).

Day 5: Today was the most anxious I’ve been. I realized youtube gives me the super power of taking a break! I walked away before game 3, did my livecasting for the day, and then finished up later in the evening.

The series today was ptitdrogo vs kelazhur. Kela played aggressively and lost. It’s still sososo difficult to fill dead time and i still havent found an answer after 2 years of casting

It is the most difficult thing in the universe to see my own face and hear my own voice. They are the main issues i have getting started every day. I feel so fat and dysphoric. I’ve just been exercising as much as i can to push through it.

Day 4: Anxiety was bad beforehand and I got a late start, but I had fun today!!! Today’s series was reynor vs byun and it subverted my expectations. No one scouted in the early game the entire series!!! I need to figure out why this was.

Production went off without a hitch, I’m trying my first clickbait title. Production still took about 90 minutes including rendering. I wonder what I can do to lower the time? https://youtu.be/hf0W024A2MM

Day 3: Today’s cast was reynor vs zest. I struggle so much casting standardish macro games. I just lose interest for the first 5 and a half minutes, and i know the audience gets bored with me. Day 2: I re recorded the first cast. I loaded it into OBS as a VLC media clip and recorded it at a stable bitrate, then edited it in davinci and uploaded the “remaster”.

Today’s cast was Skillous vs 3d! Bee!!! bee and skillous both tried some builds i hadn’t encountered out in the wild before, and it was a solid 3 game series. I struggled to find things to talk about during the mid game of map 3. Day 1: So things started out okay enough! I made the channel last week, and commissioned some artwork that will be done in a month or so.

I had intense anxiety over starting this for some reason, way more than i do when livecasting. Zero clue why. I almost gave up on day 1. I’m glad i didnt.

I picked out a series from the esl drive, choosing Open #31 (get it? DK 30 Day 1? ha…hahaha). I think the cast went ok, made sure obs settings were good, had to restart once because the replays are old, so I had to redo obs settings inside the replay to get it to load pro2020 interface for some reason.

Then came the first trouble, I edited and started rendering in davinci…oh boy. 20 attempts and failures later troubleshooting my drives changing settings etc. it turns out davinci hates variable bit rate video and refused to render variable bit rate video. What should have been an hour ended up taking 3 and a half. I uploaded the raw vod to youtube to get it in today. I will rerecord the playback of the video in obs tomorrow at a stable bitrate, re edit, re render and reupload for quality. imagine remastering a starcraft cast lolololol.
