Reviving my card game project and getting it playtested again
Dude2033 GameDev DK30 New Year 2022 1 2
Description
I started designing a card game a couple years back and have been working on it on and off for some time. I have already had it play tested by a bunch of people and changed mechanics and cards every time. After the last time I had people test it I realized I had to make bigger changes but never got around to it. I hope I can get it ready and tested again so I am one step closer to publishing a game :D
Recent Updates
I got my play test in :D It went pretty well. I managed to get eleven people to come and we had two rounds playing simultaneously. All in all we tested the game for 3, 5, and 6 players and I got tons of valuable feedback.
I will make the most important revisions for the rules and the cards within the next couple of days and then I will upload a print and play version as well as a feedback form here, in case anyone wants to try the game out for themselves.
Progress!
I managed to get nanDeck to generate all my cards in a workable fashion. They are not really pretty but I am a software engineer after all and not a graphics designer. This is the first of two decks that I need to make but the second is much smaller and also the cards are less complicated.
My second positive this week is that I have scheduled a play test for the 8th of March and I already have enough players.
I am now officially massively behind schedule because I had some problems with one of my university projects.
I have an unexpected half day right now where I have some time on my hands and I will use it to finish my first and hopefully second week goal.
I had a rather productive Sunday morning. I’ve currently converted around a third of my old cards to the new rules. I am also working on making the wording more consistent and easier to understand.
Green: successfully converted.
Yellow: not converted because I am not sure how I will handle it.
Red: not converted because the rules have changed a lot and I need to rework this more thoroughly
