Description
Push out Part 1 of a multimedia work focused Kaiba Corp Fanfiction using the many wonderful tools of the internet in addition to traditional writing. I need to first figure out how to best organize all the content in a manner that will get my audience curious and go find the rest of the content that I might not provide them in the main story document. In addition to the writing itself, I’ll need to manage a not insignificant amount of accounts on different websites and plan some visual content. Get everything ready for release starting day 1 of Week 4 of 30 day projects, with new daily content every day for 4 weeks.

Welp I am behind haha. I just got home yesterday from a business trip, o nSunday 10/23 and am behind. Plus, I am still tired and adjusting to my home’s freezing microclimate. Glad to not have Covid!
As for progress, 1.5 out of 20 things written (on the plane ride the Friday before last). Plot basically done. Still need to figure out my tools for posting online -setting deadline. Goal: At least get 5/20 things aka 1 week’s worth of written content done by end of tomorrow night - 10/25/22.

start writing up character profiles, and are we going to use OG yugioh characters - Tea, Joey, Mokuba, Kaiba, the Pharoah and Yugi? Who are the new or reintroduced characters and what are their roles? - I don’t think this is actually needed. Going to ask the #writing channel for their opinion.

figure out anything that’ll take longer eg. visual media and see if possible to either ask to feature others’ work or make very basic version for proof of concept - remember the focus should be the story, unless the visual piece is super important - breaking this down, i need some pics of the characters who are in my fanfic, so i’m going to download the basic images by Friday this week with attributions, then see what tools i need and want to put them in.

find accountability buddy who can give pointers on planning, execution - i got my #writing crew and wildstargazer so far, I think I’m good.

definitely ok to have interaction that does not disrupt plot with fans, but do we want fans to decide anything plottwise (hah, get it)? - let’s put a pin on this and see if we can work it in for a week 3/4 release.
wildstargazer recommended a social media manager to organize should i be tweeting form a lot of accounts.
Thanks to the lovely folks of #writing in Day9’s discord, I used this morning’s Sat 7am Pacific meeting to flush out THE WHOLE PLOT, version 0.1. SimicDragon recommended I use 1 email account and edit the image of the inbox that I want to post on the published site with the correct emails corresponding to the character sending/receiving emails. This allows me to keep all of my emails in the SAME Gmail, and I can organize by using +charactername before @gmail.com.
I’m not sure if I need the social media manager given the plot, but the plot is definitely going to be shifted and moved around, so I’ll keep that on the table.
Satan recommended Signal/Whatsapp for hidden/non-work chats.
Yeah this is a big project. I’m just gonna get started now.
Brainstorming possible mediums:
Notion for hosting main story and content of fanfic - linked to a tinyurl.com for easy access.
Social Media: Twitter (definite yes), LinkedIn (need to test immediately as i don’t know how good they are at catching profiles for fictional characters…)
Eliminated Social Media due to lack of time, resources, and fit: Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook
Work chat: Discord Server - except you can’t schedule messages… I’m now considering Slack

Sep 27th - Dec 7th
Week 1 Goal
If not done, complete set-up of all relevant tech/internet tools and account, store all relevant login information and accounts in a combination Google Drive/Notion thing. Start or continue to write content - be done with 1 week’s worth of all forms of content by end of week, or 2-3 weeks of pure written/planning content.
Week 2 Goal
Complete minimum 3 week’s content by end of week, or all 4 weeks of writing content and minimum 2 weeks of all content. Begin scheduling posts where possible. start editing.
Week 3 Goal
Finish all of it, edit edit edit.
Week 4 Goal
Release week 1’s content on a daily basis at exact times during the day. Engage with any audience members in character if appropriate.
