Week 2 review:
I am pretty happy with my consistency. I tried practicing every day at least 30 minutes. I skipped 2 days, but practiced more than 30 minutes on other days.
I used typing.com and edclub.com this week mostly. I started a new course on typing.com to get some more easy beginner lessons. typing.com does support a german QWERTZ keyboard, but it is in english and ignores german special characters. I still found it useful to get some more beginner lessons.
My main focus is still edclub.com because it supports german language and uses a german QWERTZ keyboard layout.
(I think keybr.com is not very useful for beginners but maybe I will come back to it when I feel more confident.)
Week 2
- Day 1 (10/26): ❌ [came back late after work after going out with colleagues]
- Day 2 (10/27): ☑ (30 min keybr.com)
- Day 3 (10/28): ☑ (30 min typing.com)
- Day 4 (10/29): ☑ (45 min typing.com)
- Day 5 (10/30): ❌ [hungover after halloween party]
- Day 6 (10/31): ☑ (30 min typing.com + 15 min edclub.com)
- Day 7 (10/01): ☑ (45 min edclub.com)
Week 1 review:
I think the first week went really well. I managed to practice a bit every day. Even on the weekend when I was really hungover. 😅
keybr.com is really nice, but I hit a wall really quick. It seems like new letters are only added when the ‘confidence level’ for the keys is high enough. That was quite frustrating and so I switched to typingclub.com.
That felt more rewarding, but in contrast new letters are introduced very quickly and that can also be a little challenging.
Also I realized typingclub.com doesn’t support german QWERTZ keyboards (only QWERTZ international) and I had to switch to edclub.com (which is the European version of typingclub.com).
My plan for next week is to continue with a mix of both edclub.com and keybr.com The idea is to use keybr.com to reinforce what I have learned from edclub.com.
In general I feel pretty good about the progress I have made so far.
Week 1
- Day 1 (10/19): ☑ (30 min keybr.com)
- Day 2 (10/20): ☑ (30 min keybr.com)
- Day 3 (10/21): ☑ (30 min keybr.com)
- Day 4 (10/22): ☑ (30 min keybr.com + 15 min typingclub.com)
- Day 5 (10/23): ☑ (15 min edclub.com)
- Day 6 (10/24): ☑ (45 min edclub.com)
- Day 7 (10/25): ☑ (30 min edclub.com + 15 min keybr.com)
