Life is vast, so let's try new things

Alright my last update for this project. I had a lot of fun with this and definitely want to continue expanding my collection of recipes I’ve tried. And of course doing more things I have not done before there are so many activities left.

In the manga space I tried 20 new series of which I completed 3. Dropped 2. But a lot of them are still ongoing so my waiting list has expanded a lot. :D

For this update I also made another bread but it is still not where I want it. This is surprisingly difficult to get right.

No baking this time.

In an attempt to stop gaining even more weight I decided to switch to cooking. I like sushi and has been interested in making some parts of it for a long time.

Well today i made my first maki:

I don’t own a bamboo mat so this has been more of a hassle and sticky rice is REALLY sticky. Pretty sure I could glue things to my wall with it.

They look fine when cut up and taste almost like form the store. Went a bit too light on seasoning I believe:

So this was the most spontaneous thing so far but I wanted to make use of some leftover ingredients.

Which resulted in me making my first brownies. I need to do some work on my oven. In some earlier baking attempts I noticed that his heat distribution is uneven and now parts of this one are not really done but other parts close to burnt.

More baking:

Made the Linzer torte. Handling the dough was a bit of a mess but at least my mom said it tasted good. :)

Another manga update:

I got my spark back when it comes to reading and going through one series after the next, has now replaced all my other forms of entertainment. There is just so much out there, not all of them good but as previously I want to highlight the ones that are special.

And so we have “Hiromiya” a series that started as a webcomic, got turned into an ova, got a manga adaptation, recently an anime adaptation as well and now also a live action version. For a good a reason I might add because its so damn good.

It has some of the best romance moments I have ever seen. The heights of this series are honestly unrivaled. Sadly it looses a bit of its magic over the complete runtime but I can still wholeheartedly recommend it!

Probably around 3 years late for that trend but I have managed to bake my first loaf of bread.

It turned out a bit dry and also got a bit flat so there is plenty to improve and I want to try again in the near future.

I have been inquiring for more manga and have read quite a few new ones but most of them were not captivating enough to give them a spotlight here.

“Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” came the closest. Its a interesting premise of telling a story after the big bad has been defeated. It is on indefinite hiatus at the moment and I still do not fully know what to think of it.

Baking update:

We have achieved chocolate cake 😋

I shared it with my coworkers, feedback was positive 😊

There are some bits to improve but being nitpicky of my own work is not part of my project for once.

Manga update:

This weekend I stumbled upon “The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity” a romance manga that is currently still in publication and I might have binged it up to the current chapter…

Its about two teenagers from different schools who take an interest in each other but have to learn how to deal with the situation and their emotions. Can thoroughly recommend it even if its not finished yet!
