#powerhot25 walking no longer counts July - #beyoncehottiebody

Description

That’s right, per my coaches’ request, walking no longer counts as part of my adjusted 25 miles a week of exercise. This means that I have to work out more moving forward. I also have this cough still due to bad allergies apparently - AC is not great at keeping dust out, so when I was sitting in that cold for too long without a jacket on, the cough and phlegm was triggered and stuck around. We’re a couple of weeks into the month, but I’ve got a good plan to keep it up and make sure I get enough rest to not burn out.

I did it!

Got 25 miles in, and I worked out every day except for one appropriate rest day this past week! This is great =) It’s so validating to be able to achieve this, and I have to say Nintendo Switch Ringfit is AWESOME for making this easy.

I also had the pleasure of paddling a single person boat, also called an outrigger or OC1, with a teammate as I won this chance in a raffle. He’s one of the older members on the team and he was down to paddle for more than an hour, so we actually paddled for 3 and did 9+ miles. We started in the middle of the Foster City Lagoon, paddled all the way to one end, turned around, then paddled back to where we started and then all the way to the other end, then paddled back to where we started again. It was so fun - felt more relaxing than exercise, and I was surprised we were out there for so long!

I felt so good Monday after working too! This has been such a breakthrough week for my exercising in that I am now consistently, regularly exercising without pain, over-tiredness, etc. And I’m listening to my body, so runs are no longer required as my legs just don’t like them currently, and I don’t want to injure myself. Looking forward to getting a great time for August benchmarks!

Week 4 miles: 27.6 miles

Upcoming

  • Keep up the good work!
  • Hope to get a better time or have another breakthrough for August benchmarks!
  • Making new project for August!

Welp I rested this week instead mostly

I did go to double practice today and got some good miles in, but otherwise could not find the energy or mental will to get a workout in. Moving all my to do’s to this coming week to see if I can get some work in by starting afresh. And gotta remember listening to your body is a very good thing.

Week 3 miles: 9.8 miles

Upcoming

  • I’m going to add 2 runs, Ringfit, and 1 ERG rowing workout to this week, which should definitely get me to 25 miles. I just got to make sure I pace it well.

25 miles is tough!

Still tracking all my stats here

It’s been super busy at work this year, so getting my workouts in has been tougher as I am sometimes mentally more exhausted than I like to be. Being sick in one way or another, even if not gravely, for most of June was not helpful as well. I’m still getting better from this allergy cough, but honestly I’m almost back at PR (personal record) time for my strong side.

For this week, I did great by getting one extra workout in vs. the weeks before - specifically on Thursday when I am least likely to workout, which is great.

With the help of dayknight accountabilibuddies and some variety, I’m hoping to get a couple more workouts in this upcoming week and get closer to that 25 miles.

Last week was benchmark Monday and even if I didn’t get a record time, I did, on my stronger side (left), achieved a really awesome feat: I kept the same pace at from the 300m mark to the 400m mark, out of the 500m benchmark. Usually, from 300 meters to 400 meters is when I lose it, mentally more than physically, and I slow down up to 5-10 seconds on pace. The fact that I didn’t, was a clear sign that I got stronger.

Additionally, I’ve been doing assisted pullups at the office gym, and for the first time, I didn’t have to stop at 10 and do 3 sets of 10 pullups and dips for all 4 sets, I could do 2 sets of 15 for the first 2 sets.

This means I am getting stronger, which is a great, clear sign of progress from the last many months of putting in work.

Week 1 Miles: 15.3 miles

Starting Week 2, I stopped counting walking miles

Week 2 Miles: 18.8 miles

I’m actually pretty proud that I got almost 20 miles of exercising in this past week. No wonder I feel dead after double practice today, haha.

Upcoming

  • I’m going to add 2 runs, Ringfit, and 1 ERG rowing workout to this week, which should definitely get me to 25 miles. I just got to make sure I pace it well.
